Friday afternoon I drove down to Orlando and hung out with the PB crew....we had a yummy dinner at Carrabba's. We were pretty sleepy so we went to bed around 1-ish.
Saturday I was up at about 9:30, and getting ready to go to the Tampa show. We got all ready, Rasha and Adolph came over, and we were off. Good times were had in the car, because Adolph kept calling us and telling us that he had seen their tour buses on the side of the road. But then Rasha would start laughing, so we knew he was being a dirty liar.
We got to the ampitheatre around 3 ish, but they weren't letting people park till about 5. So we made an excursion to the Brandon Town Centre to get something to eat and such. They had this Godiva store there, and I had never seen one of these before. But Alicia and I got yummy Godiva chocolate frozen drinks. SO delicous. We went back to the Ampitheatre around 5, and got to park and such. We waited for about 20 ish minutes for the gates to open so we could go inside. We met up with Elizabeth, the girl I sold our extra lawn seats to. She was really excited. The gates opened, and we got to go inside to look at merchandise. I didn't want to buy any, because I'm rediculously poor. But the posters were the hottness. There were two to choose from, and I didn't know what to get. I decided that I could pick in Atlanta. We were eventually led to our sixth row center seats, which were amazing. I was so excited.
They had this whole thing, where you could send text messages, and they would appear on the big screen...so we sent one saying "Welcome Back! You rock our socks off!" (guess who came up with that one) :)
Opening acts were Kaci Brown and Click Five. Never heard of either of them. Kaci Brown was pretty good. She's a really young girl, but she had a really good voice, and I really liked her songs. They were catchy. She had these two cute dancer boys with her. I kinda felt bad for her, because first of all, it must be SO intimidating to be a girl on tour with BSB, knowing that all the audience is pretty much female, and wanting to see the guys. And also, the crowd in Tampa wasn't that excited for her. I felt bad so I made sure to stand up and cheer for her after her songs.
Then Click Five came on. They were like the epitome of scene kids. They came out dressed in orange and black suits, with all but one of them doing the long hair combed to the side thing. The keyboard player was hilarious because he spent more time running around the stage and pointing to people than actual keyboard playing. Oh and he would wink at pretty much everyone. So at one point Alicia and I did a "call me" motion to him, and he was like "what?" LOL it was hilarious.
In between sets I got to talking to these British people sitting behind us. The guy asked me if I had ever heard of Westlife, and I said yeah, and he was like "They're just as big as the Backstreet Boys over in England", then we got to talking about Robbie Williams. Then I was like "You know who I really love from England? Will Young." And he was like "OH MY GOODNESS. Will is brilliant. Absolutely brilliant." And then I told him how I love Gareth Gates too, because he has a speech disorder, and how that's my major. And we gushed for a good 10 minutes about it, and then I told him how I HATED Darius and thought he was creepy, and he like, high fived me and told me that no one likes him. Awesomeness.
We also met these really nice girls sitting behind us.
Then was time for our boys. Everyone went nuts. The show was a lot more simple and scaled down. No goofy costumes, hardly any pyro. It was like, a retrospective thing. It started off with a montage of all this random stuff, then went into a montage from Black and Blue....it showed tour footage, and the around the world trip. Then the guys came out and busted into "The Call", which rocked my socks off.
Other highlights from Tampa:
-We were so close that we could see Denise McLean and Leighanne sitting on the side of the stage. Leighanne had Baylee in her lap for part of the show, and kept pointing, like "look at daddy". And Baylee was so cute with his little earplugs in, and he was covering his ears. Most adorable child ever.
-We also saw Aaron Carter running around before the show.
-Kevin for some reason, I looked over and he was unzipping his pants, and had exposed his black boxer briefs. Then he zipped them back up, and turned around and shook his ass. Alicia said that she saw him grab his crotch, and that his fly was undone, and that he zipped it back up, and then unzipped it again. LOL silly boy.
-Brian kept, like chatting with the people in the front row....telling them about how some 40 year old lady freaked out when he waved at her.
-Brian was also being his goofy Brian self through the whole show. He was playing with the mic stand during "I Still", he put it so the mic was wayyy over his head, and looked up at it was looked and was like "too high", and then he put it wayy down low, and looked at it and shook his head and mouthed "too low". So silly.
-Nick played guitar for "Climbing The Walls" and "Just Want You To Know". It was hot. He was like "AJ's the smooth and silky member of the group, so I guess I'm the down and dirty one." So here's "Just Want You To Know".
-During "Show Me The Meaning", Brian was sitting right in front of me on the stool just looking out into the crowd, so I waved at him and blew him a kiss....AND HE BLEW ONE BACK!!!!! Everyone around me patted me on the back, and I was like "yall just saw that right?" And I high fived Adolph.
-Favorite performance of the night was "Siberia". It's one of my favorite songs on the album, and it rocked my socks live. It snowed onstage during it, and Rasha I guess was on the phone with Jenna and was like "SNOOOOWWWWWWWW, Jenna it's SNOWING!" Hilarious. Got some amazing pictures of this.
-Later in the night AJ was right in front of me, I did the whole wave and blow kisses thing, and HE BLEW ME A KISS BACK! And Adolph was like OMG, and we high fived again, and I was like "that's two!"
-Brian started making fun of these two guys in the row in front of me, just standing there with their arms crossed. It was during "Quit Playing Games", and Brian just stood there onstage with his arms crossed laughing at them. And they just threw their arms up in the air, and Brian was like "Come on, I KNOW you know this one". Pretty funny.
-They did this dance breakdown thing during "Larger Than Life", complete with green laser lights and strobe lights. Not gonna lie, one of the hottest things I've ever seen. I tried to get pics of it, but because of the strobe light, they didn't come out.
-Brian saw Adolph in the crowd and did this whole guy fist pump thing at him. It was awesome. We all started cracking up.
-Throughout the show they would show montages from each of their albums. The Millennium one was set to "Don't Want You Back", and the Backstreet Boys one was set to "We've Got It Goin On", and it showed SUPER old school footage....like the "Anywhere For You" and the ORIGINAL "I'll Never Break Your Heart" video...the one in the snow. Good stuff.
-The last montage of the night, pretty much made me cry. I definitely had tears in my eyes for the "Never Gone" montage. It was set to the song, and it showed all this footage of rehearsals and them making Never Gone. It was just really cool to take a look back, and then to see how far they've come. Amazing.
-During "Crawling Back To You", Alicia was like "I've got my camera ready in case any of them start crawling!" None of them did though. LOL
-During "Drowning", Brian was like "you are my survival....now Howie sing". Soooo cute.
-The show ended with them singing "Weird World" and "Incomplete", sitting around the piano while Kevin played. During the "take away your beautiful smile" line, Brian just sat there with this goofy smile on his face. Good times.
-Last song of the night was "Backstreet's Back". It started out set to the beat of the Ying Yang Twins' "Whisper Song". The "shake it shake it" part was pretty much the hottest thing ever. Then they busted into the song at the second verse, and they also did a dance breakdown. HOT.
-We ran up at the end and tried to get the set list, but some other girls beat us to it. We decided we'd try again in Atlanta.
Alicia and I came up to Gainesville and went to bed after I uploaded my AMAZING pictures. I had quite a few that came out fabulously. We woke up and got our pictures developed and we were off to Atlanta.
We got to Atlanta around 6, right when they were opening the doors. Our seats were on the floor, towards the back. Our one goal for the night was to get the set list.
Highlights from this show:
-When Nick started playing guitar during Brian's intro and welcoming speech, he was like "My little brother Nick wants to play you the guitar, is that ok?"
-The crowd was a lot more into it. Brian told us that this show sold out the quickest of the entire show.
-Howie kept saying HOT-lanta all night. Good times.
-During "I Still" I was looking forward to the "stuck in a moment" part, because that's when Brian, Nick and Kevin all sing into one mic...but Kevin was too busy air guitaring, and I don't know what Nick was doing, so Brian just kinda stood there and shrugged, but Nick saw, and kinda went over and put his arm around Brian. So cute.
-During "All I Have to Give", Nick's lift didn't come up...it came up a little after the other four, then halfway went back down, then we saw a crew guy run and hand him a mic...so he was the only one with a mic in his hand, while the other four had the kind that sit on your ear.
-Nick and AJ actually did start crawling during "Crawling Back To You". We were pissed, because we were kinda far away. LOL
-Nick, during his intro for "Just Want You To Know", completely lost his train of thought, went on a tangent about how we needed to vote for the video, and then he had to go up to AJ and be like "Is there anything else I need to tell them?", and AJ was like, leaning on the mic, and he was like "No, just sing the song." And then Nick was like "OH YEAH...AJ's the smooth operator..." and went into that whole thing. LOL
-I got video of "Siberia" and the "Larger Than Life" dance breakdown, which looks like an acid trip.
-Kevin kept walking around Bo Bice style with the entire mic stand, and holding it out to the crowd.
-Brian got down on his knees with the entire mic stand during the high note "SEEEEEEE" during "I'll Never Break Your Heart"
-While the guys were taking their final bows after "Backstreet's Back", Alicia and I ran up to the front, and when the lights came on and everyone started clearing out, went into the third row and climbed over the seats and asked the crew guy for a set list. And he got them for us. Mine has a footprint on it. Hehe.
The drive back to Gville was ok....we got home a little after 5, but everything was worth it. I'm hoping for a second leg of the tour, so we can do it all over again. Best time ever.
A couple of pics are under the cut:
